About Me

Carol Goodwin

I trained at the Academy of Clinical and Medical Hypnosis in London.  The Academy courses are considered to offer the highest standard of training in this field in the UK. They are independently validated and assessed by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, accredited by the Department of Education and are also supported by Brighton, Cambridge, Leeds, Loughborough and Reading Universities.

Having attained my Hypnotherapy Practitioner’s Diploma, I am committed to continuing my professional development to improve and increase my knowledge and experience, and have attended CPD courses in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a Smoking Cessation Masterclass weekend.

I am the approved Hypnotherapist covering  Berkhamsted, Tring and surrounding area for the National Smoking Cessation Institute (NSCI), the largest not-for-profit smoking cessation organisation in the UK (after the Government’s).    Please check out their website at www.stopsmoking.coop/.  I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) validated practioner and am also on the Central Register of Stop Smoking Therapists (CRSST).  The GHR ensures that I am qualified, fully insured, and follow their Code of Ethics.

I worked in IT for over 20 years, and experienced first-hand the debilitating emotional and physical effects of continued stress and anxiety.     A 20 a day smoker for over 30 years, I was finally able to stop smoking through Hypnotherapy, having tried but failed with several other means.  This is why I decided to retrain to become a Hypnotherapist in my forties, and why I can empathise with my clients so strongly.  I am absolutely committed to my clients, and aim to offer a holistic and practical approach to their treatment.  Whatever your problem or issue, no matter how big or small, call me to discuss it now, and take the first step to changing your life.

Thanks to the work Carol has done with me, the 'grey veil' that covered my world was lifted and I was able to face my circumstances without the feeling of despair or bereavement.  This feeling continues now, several months later - and for that I am truly grateful.  I absolutely believe that without the benefits of 'tapping' my world would have remained in despair.  Thanks Carol!

I have to admit I was sceptical when I decided to try an alternative way to stop smoking than just using will power alone. And how wrong I was! Following Carol's first session the cravings had gone completely and after years of smoking I was smoke free. I never believed such techniques could work so well (and so quickly).
